Coming Attractions...

In May, January traveled to the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta for the TASTE OF THE SEASON event. She performed a preview of a piece that will be premiering at the Alliance this fall -- Native Guard, by United States Poet Laureate Natasha Trethewey.  This exciting new work is a theatrical interpretation of the book by the same name, which won the 2007 Pulitzer Prize for poetry.

Also in May, January recorded two exciting titles -- one brand new, and one a classic.  Dollbaby, the beautiful debut novel by Laura Lane McNeal, and Coma, the 1977 breakout novel by now-bestseller Robin Cook. Dollbaby launched this week to stellar reviews, and the audio of Coma will be available later this summer.

2014 Audie Awards

January was honored to be both a nominee and a presenter at the Audiobook Publishers Association Awards Gala on May 29th, at the New York Academy of Medicine.  She was also surprised and delighted to be the recipient of the 2014 Audie for Best Romance for her work on the Nicholas Sparks novel, The Longest Ride. (She shares the award with her talented co-narrator, Ron McLarty.) The ceremony was hosted by the fabulous Libba Bray, author of The Diviners (for which January was nominated for an Audie in 2013!)

March was a busy month, and January completed recordings of two instant classics: Invisible, a new novel by internationally bestselling author James Patterson, and The Competition, the latest installment in the "Rachel Knight" series, penned by the talented and brilliant former LA County prosecutor Marcia Clark.  Invisible is slated for a June 23, 2014 release, while The Competition hits shelves July 8, 2014.
